About Me:
Welcome! I’m Matt, and I’m glad you’re here.
For over 15 years, I’ve walked with individuals and families through challenges like ADHD, anxiety, addiction, and attachment struggles. My journey into this work began in an unlikely place—the high-pressure world of professional kitchens. After years of battling burnout and disconnection, I left the culinary world to pursue what had always mattered most: restoration.
Today, I’m the founder of Tuning Fork Solutions, where I help high-performing men, neurodivergent adults, and emotionally drained professionals return to presence, purpose, and peace. My approach is shaped by both clinical expertise and lived experience, so what I offer isn’t just theory—it’s embodied. My aim is simple: to create a space where healing feels real, grounded, and human.

My Approach
I believe in the transformative power of mindfulness. Cultivating present-moment awareness is essential not only for reducing suffering but also for empowering individuals to make conscious, values-aligned choices in their lives.
Mindfulness serves as the cornerstone of several therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, enabling clients to reframe their thinking and develop healthier behaviors.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) builds on CBT by incorporating mindfulness practices, helping clients recognize and respond to their thoughts and emotions with greater awareness, thereby preventing relapse into negative thinking patterns.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) emphasizes emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. It combines mindfulness with skills training to equip clients with tools for managing intense emotions and improving relationships.
By integrating these approaches, I provide a comprehensive framework that empowers clients to identify and create solutions to navigate challenges effectively.
The Heart of Tuning Fork
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
The Internal Family Systems (IFS) model offers a transformative approach to psychotherapy by understanding the human psyche as a multifaceted system comprised of numerous sub-personalities, commonly referred to as ‘parts". This model posits that each individual possesses a core "Self" that embodies inherent qualities such as compassion, curiosity, and calmness, which serves as the center of wisdom and healing within."
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT helps you build psychological flexibility through a set of six core principles. In our work together, we will explore how to:
- Accept Your Thoughts and Feelings: Acceptance isn't about liking or wanting your pain. It's about making room for it and allowing difficult feelings to come and go without a fight. We learn to drop the rope in the tug-of-war with our inner experience.
- Untangle from Your Thoughts (Defusion): You are not your thoughts. ACT uses powerful exercises to help you see your thoughts for what they are: just words, sounds, and images passing through your mind. You will learn to notice your thoughts without getting hooked by them, taking away their power to control your actions.
- Connect with the Present Moment: So much of our suffering comes from worrying about the future or ruminating on the past. We will practice mindfulness skills to help you ground yourself in the here and now, allowing you to fully engage with your life as it's happening.
- Discover Your Observing Self: There is a part of you—a stable, secure "you"—that can notice your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without being defined by them. Connecting with this perspective provides a powerful sense of inner calm and resilience.
- Know What Matters (Values): What do you want your life to stand for? What kind of person do you truly want to be? We will work together to clarify your personal values—your heart's deepest desires for how you want to behave and contribute to the world. Your values will become your compass.
- Take Committed Action: A meaningful life is built one step at a time. ACT is about taking concrete, effective action guided by your values, even in the presence of fear, doubt, or discomfort. We will work on setting meaningful goals and developing the habits that move you toward the life you want.
